Sesame Date Truffles

A family favourite that we make on a weekly basis. These sweet healthy sesame date truffles are packed with simple and nutritious ingredients that provide a balance of carbohydrates, fats and protein. A real crowd pleaser, adults enjoy these as much as the kids do! This recipe has room for you to be creative. If you don’t have some ingredients on hand, use what you have! No sunflower seeds? Swap them for pumpkin seeds. Out of tahini? Use for favourite nut butter instead. I encourage you to choose your own adventure with this one! No baking required, all you need is a food processor.

Equipment

  • Food Processor

Ingredients

  • 1 cup dates
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened shredded coconut
  • 1/4 cup sunflower seeds raw or toasted
  • 1 tbsp hulled tahini
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions

  • Soak dates in water for a few minutes, I like doing this to add a bit of moisture to the mix.
  • Once softened drain the dates and combine all ingredients in your food processor. Blend until all ingredients are well combined and a dough-like texture forms.
  • Scoop out rounded 1 Tbsp amounts and roll into balls, allow to chill in fridge for up to 15min or can be eaten right away.

Notes

You can keep these in the freezer for up to a month or in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
